Situation & Need
Over the years the complexity of the IT infrastructure had grown and thus slowing down the development and release processes of the digital products. Also developers could not focus on their main tasks as they were often busy maintaining and adjusting the IT infrastructure. Therefore Viollier established a digitalization strategy to best cover the growing needs of their customers.
Goal
The main goal was to increase productivity and streamline development cycles by introducing cloud native methodologies. At the same time the new cloud native capabilities should provide better scalability and help the developers focus on their core business while still ensuring the necessary compliance regulations are met. After all, those improvements should lead to higher developer satisfaction and improve time to market.
Solution
Adfinis helped Viollier to establish the necessary cloud native development patterns by engineering the required Kubernetes infrastructure, CI/CD and GitOps pipelines as well as secrets management workflows. At the same time the development workflows and overall IT infrastructure was simplified thus decreasing release cycle from multiple days and weeks to only a few hours and minutes.
By closely collaborating with all stakeholders and providing additional trainings to the Viollier teams, Adfinis helped strengthen the DevOps knowledge, accelerating the business and subsequently allowed the teams to better focus on their core business instead of dealing with IT infrastructure topics.
As part of the ongoing collaboration and SLA Adfinis is responsible for the health state and maintenance of the environment as well as continuous improvement.
